Long known for their thin flat weaves, stylish stripes and bright colors, RTC has improved upon these century old faves by looming a layer of micro cotton terry cloth on the back making what is perhaps the most perfect towel on the planet. At lot of people new to Turkish towels often are confused by their thin woven feeling and have a hard time believing that after a few washes they're more absorbent than many of their terry cloth cousins. RTC decided that a gateway towel was needed to help convince the non-believers that you can have a flat towel and still get ultra dry with our new micro fiber looming technique that maintains the thin nature but a layer of micro plush cotton loops. The tassel is the only ornament crafted that has lasted throughout history and they date back as far as the 14th century. The Riviera Towel Company produces five different types of tassels: the Hand Tied Knot Tassel, Straight Fringe Tassel, Raw Fringe Tassel, Twist Tassel and the popular Pom Pom Tassel. We offer custom tassels on most all of our towels so you are able to choose any towel/ tassel combination, or if you prefer none at all. If your project requires straight edge seams we will finish each edge with a double lock stitch sewn seam for extra strength and durability. CUSTOM WOVEN JACQUARD - How an old textile technique is being used by new premium brands
Jacquard is a centuries old weaving technique that is breathing new life into an old promotions industry. A jacquard weave is created in the looming set up, which is programmed to raise each warp thread independently of the vertical threads. The brand's logo design actually becomes part of the fabric and the weave, instead of being printed or dyed onto the fabric. The loom attachment allows a much more versatile weaving process and a higher level of control. The term “Jacquard” itself is after the inventor of the loom attachment that creates this added control, Joseph Marie Jacquard.Today Jacquard is being re-discovered by brands that are seeking an authentic connection to the product. Nothing comes close to the cool factor of having your image or logo woven directly into the material. Using our new high speed looms we can produce short runs of 50 unit per design. Because the logo is literally be woven into the very fabric of the towel, the "imprint" can be as large as the entire towel itself. ds This jacquard weave process is more time consuming and labor intensive than a basic weave. However, jacquard fabric is more stable and stretchy than fabrics created through the basic weave technique. Jacquard weaves can also be combinded with various colors and types of threads. This provides beautiful and soft gradations of color tones and bold outlined patterns that are very complex, such as landscapes, portraits, and unique branding logo designs. The Riviera Towel Company was commissioned to design a unique Turkish Towel for our friends at the American Heart Assoc. Using an interconnected heart shapes our director of design produced a classic and stylish pattern to honor the countless good works of the AHA. The versatile medium weight fabric is constructed from 100% Premium Turkish Cotton in a special double layer process that uses the interlocking design to fuse together two layers of fabric. Pre-washed for unimaginable softness the fabric easily folds around you as a scarf or wrap. Weighing in at 300g it is light enough to pack up in your bag and heavy enough for every day use as towel or picnic blanket. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of our Infinite Heart Towel are donated to the American Heart Assoc. Wrap yourself up in infinite hearts and help out the AHA. We are introducing our new line of Jacquard styles that promote everyone's favorite destinations starting with Santa Barbara. Our in house lead designer has worked with textiles for decades and loves to weave layers of soft cotton into unique designs like our State of California map floating in a sea of possibilities.
