"Many of us ask what can I, as one person, do, but history shows us that everything good and bad starts because somebody does something or does not do something."

OUR STORY

We Believe

Everything Counts In Large Amounts

We believe that even the smallest of efforts can make a world of difference when well intentioned. We like to think our collections are more than beautiful towels; to us they are the embodiment of our desire to protect and restore our Oceans on a global scale. We hope that by supporting world class marine foundations will turn our towels into waves of advocacy." Co-Founders - Albert & Shannon DiPadova

The Art of Turkish Tassels

Very few people know that every tassel knot on a Turkish Towel is individually hand tied.  It is an artesian skill handed down by generations and is not easily mastered. Women of Turkey take great pride in their work as it may be one of the last few hand crafted  textiles produced today.

Tying Fringe Knots

The tassels on your Turkish towel are hand tied and if they come unraveled that's OK because you can easily twist the ends back into place and tie a knot at the end of the strands.

Turkish Quality is Forever

Now that they're gaining popularity around the world many other countries have begun producing "Turkish Style Designs" and while they look pretty we've found that most will disintegrate in the wash.

The Women of Turkey

Centuries of technique is woven into every Turkish Towel. Primarily run by women who have learned their artesian skills from their mothers and grandmothers it is a driving force of their local economies. There is no machine that can tie the knots as well as these women making Turkish Towels the most sought after in the world .

The Warp and The Weft

The colorful Bobbins are the weft or horizontal colors that become the designs on each towel.  The longitudinal threads are called the warp and the lateral threads are the weft or filling. Usually woven on a loom, a device that holds the warp threads in place while filling threads are woven through them creating the distinctive and stylish stripes you love.

The Best of Both Worlds

Turkish Towels are thin by design, drying quick and light packing for easy travel. However many people love the feeling of Terry Cloth, but it takes a special looming process to produce a flat front weave with a plush terry cloth back. Our Terry backed Turkish Towels come in several styles giving you the best of both worlds, both absorbent and  fast drying.
